Laborer | Kuna |
Boise Project Board of Control is currently accepting applications for Laborers in the Kuna area. Job Duties include but are not limited to: Construct, install and repair weirs, concrete boxes and other structures. Prepare, pour, smooth and finish concrete for irrigation boxes, tiles, and canal linings. Tree, bush and weed trimming, burning and/or removal. Inspects canal and lateral banks to detect rodent problems; determines and implements appropriate methods and procedures to be used for control and/or removal. Responsible for mixing and storing pesticides and poisons suitable for extermination. Other duties as assigned. Reports to Division Foreman and/or Watermaster. Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00-3:30, 40 hours a week. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work. Wages start at $19.00 hr. and up DOE. Requirements: Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs. Able to walk along, up and down canal banks and/or on uneven terrain. Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Class A CDL preferred but not required; however, must have a clean driving record. Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. Benefits after 90 days include full medical, dental, vision and PERSI retirement. |

Ditch Rider | Lake Lowell |
Boise Project is currently accepting applications for a ditchrider. Operates irrigation gates, checks, turnouts, and spills to properly regulate water flow in canals and drains. Clean and Maintain culvert crossings, pump inlet grates, checks and spills. This involves removing debris with a long-handled weed fork. Patrol ride daily. Receives and compiles water orders. Construct, install and repair weirs, concrete boxes and other structures. Assists in weed removal and/or weed control applications. Must have a clean driving record. Requires basic math and computer skills. Experience working with irrigation water is a plus. Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs, walk on uneven terrain and up/down steep canal banks. Wages start at $19.00 hour based on experience, plus seasonal pay during water delivery season. 7 days a week (40 hours) during water season from April to October; Monday-Friday during off water season from November through March. Benefits within 90 days include full medical, dental, vision and PERSI retirement. Must be able to travel quickly within the Lake Lowell area if there is an emergency. Duties include delivering irrigation water per customers’ requests, cleaning headgates and working with a crew to clean and maintain irrigation facilities. Company vehicle is provided during water season. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. |
